Thoughts on the poem: It is inspired by a story that my father told me of a dwarf-lord who ruled many years whose entire family was killed by treachery. His wisewoman divined him the truth of the matter and he was eventually avenged, but died soon after, of a broken heart. Nevertheless he is remembered as a just and beloved ruler, and oaths of vengeance are still taken in his name.
