  of Verisimilitude

Grotto: A cave or cavern. Often the passages of our mind can resemble dark caverns. Yet, when even a little light is cast upon them, a beauty and brilliance, formerly unseen, springs forth.

 

Verisimilitude: The appearance or semblance of truth. Truth is often a matter of perception. What one perceives as unshakable reality, another may perceive as fantasy or misunderstanding.

The Grotto began as a column in Ðaoine Sidhe where topics of a philosophical nature could be discussed from a character point of view. What is character development, after all, but the exploration of ideals and values through an avatar? The format varies from letters, to journal-type entries, to essays.Often these topics, and others as well, overflow into FALO gathers where the Grotto steps off the page and ponders its own reality for a time. The Grotto has also expanded to the message board, where more spontaneous and less formal discussions can take place. In this volume, topics that have received responses are grouped together by category. The rest are under "Various."
