The FALO Chronicle

Volumes I through XXII

The Chronicle is a running record of FALO’s history since its inception in 1986. It is a synopsis of the important events, both fantastical and mundane, that have helped to shape the FALO environment and its members. Various members have taken on the mantle of historian in an effort to preserve where we have been so that those who come after can look back to the foundation and see the roots which nourished their branch.

So much has gone into the making of FALO that it could not possibly have been captured in its entirety. Because of that, the gems gathered here are all the more precious for the glimpses they offer into our past. FALO is a neverending story and, as with any tale, a solid history is necessary to build a realm that allows one to believe in it and immerse oneself in it. All the threads sewn by members past join with the ones we add today and weave the great tapestry that is FALO.

In the memories of yesterday lie the paths to the present and the visions of tomorrow. All that has gone before is wrapped up in the split second of now. History is an almost alchemical distillation and fractionation of the present moment into the various elements of its composition. The study of those smaller pieces is then used to construct a framework for understanding who and what we have become and a background against which to measure our progress. When we see how far we have come, what lies ahead, though no less uncertain, becomes less daunting, and we continue the journey with renewed vigor.
