Rodin Rae is a spirited adventurer and shrewd merchant who has made a comfortable life for her- self in the FALO lands. She spends half the year trading fine fabrics, spices, and jewels between the Isle of Long and the Red Desert, and half the year gambling and looking for "business" opportunities. She enjoys taking risks and finding creative ways to get herself out of the predicaments in which she usually finds herself. She regards the FALO lands as a pleasant and amicable distraction in comparison to the tumultuous political fray in which she was embroiled in Sheldon.

Born to the Merchant Guild, Rodin Rae was fostered with the Assassins in anticipation that a marriage between the powerful Merchant Bellock family, and the ruling Assassin Harlow family, would stabilize the animosity between the two Guilds. In preparation for her marriage to Deagon Harlow, the foppish son of the Assassin's Guildmaster, Rodin Rae was educated and trained in various types of political and economic affairs.

She was also initiated into the exclusive gnosis that is the true power behind the ruling Assassin class, only to those initiated as "the dark art." This is a form of mind-magic, coupled with delicate persuasion skills. It was during this training that Rodin Rae met and fell in love with Lenardo, the radical political thinker and reluctant martyr to the people of Sheldon. Lenardo taught Rodin Rae aspects of life that the Assassin's Guild dared not; that of honor, trust, and love.

They planned to wed but before they could the tentative Guild stability broke and Sir Rae Bellock demanded a test of loyalty from his daughter. Obeying her father's orders, much to Lenardo's despair, Rodin Rae murdered the Assassin Guildmaster and tried, but failed, to dispose of Deagon Harlow. Thus, she brought upon herself the wrath of his sister, Dorinda Harlow.

In order to save her from the political repercussions, Sir Bellock exiled Rodin Rae to the Endless Sea, a forbidden, dangerous, and believed to be endless, ocean. During the time that followed, Rodin Rae became adept at sailing. She heard rumors that the Assassin's Guild had imprisoned Lenardo and correctly suspects that they have murdered her father in retaliation. Deckla opened one of the last existing portals between The Endless and Westron Seas during this exile, pulling Rodin Rae through to use as his own personal killing tool. With the closing of the portal, Deckla locked away forever the last known passage back to her homeland.

Rodin Rae, though content with her luxurious lifestyle, new friends, and new family, is always looking back to Sheldon, and those she loved that she was forced to leave behind. Rodin Rae is currently the Owner/Captain of the Sea Sylph and part Owner/Operator of Darkmyst.
