Homelands
The FALO fantasy world is a shared world created by the members of FALO. The primary FALO-realm is called E'atara. Other lands beyond E'atara, created and maintained by members, also exist. As part of the character development process, members and guests often chose a place on E’atara to call home. Even those who hale from other realms typically have a primary residence on E’atara. Like characters, homelands are not static places that serve simply as backdrops for a characters’ activities or a place to reside when not at gathers. The world of E’atara itself develops as characters grow and change, come and go. Even the map is a mutable tool to which places are added as new people enter our midst or longstanding members forge into unexplored territory. Where a character is from and how that character’s actions affect the people around them becomes a significant part of the character development process. The creation of a homeland can be almost as much work as the creation of a character, and most members consider such things as climate, fortifications, people, culture, economics, and even relationships with neighboring regions when developing their homelands. |
