About FALOEnter the Editor's Glade Weblog
Fantasy and Legends Organization (FALO) was founded in 1986. Its membership stretches across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and even into the southwest corner of Vermont. FALO explores fantasy and mythology through the development of characters created by members in a fantasy setting also defined by members. The primary manifestation of FALO fantasy is through living fantasy. Seven times a year, from September through April, members gather as their characters to share their fantasy. Although characters are roleplayed, and some events occur that provide opportunities for character response, these gatherings are not live action roleplaying games. They are living fantasy—much like living history, only the history, indeed the entire setting, arises from the imagination of the participants. The gatherings are more akin to the classic “gathering of heroes after the quest” with occasional roleplaying scenarios set up by members. The fantasy is also expressed through various other art forms, including fiction, poetry, song, art, crafts, combat, archery... really just about any creative endeavor the members of FALO can wrap in their vision. You can get in touch with FALO members and keep up to date on happenings in and around FALO via the FALO Forum on this site.
