FALO File Basics

What is a FALO File?

FALO Files are autobiographical sketches of the characters created by members of Fantasy and Legends Organization. Explore current members' FALO Files to learn more.

Who Should Submit a FALO File?

Any welcomestone holder with a well developed character who wants to make information about him/herself available.

Any welcomestone holder seeking moonstone holder status. A FALO File is required before the elders consider members for moonstones.

Guests should not submit FALO Files, as the FALO Files represent an extended period of character development within FALO.

Where Do I Submit a FALO FILE?

You should send your completed FALO File to the elders for review.

When Should I Update My FALO File?

Regularly. FALO Characters are not static, and anytime you feel your FALO File no longer accurately reflects you, you should update it. If your FALO File includes information about what is occurring in your characters life at the time of the writing, you may need to update more frequently. A date in the bottom right corner will inform people as to how current your information is.

Character Statistics

The stat box is a quick-reference to your character. Name and race are required fields. Other information that might be helpful includes: aliases, age, race, height, weight, homeland, occupation, father, mother, mate, siblings, offspring, weapons, deity. Just remember it’s a “quick” reference. If you wish to use non-standard units or do something that you feel may be out of the ordinary for this section, please consult the council for guidance. It is hoped that this section will be easy for guests to read and provide them with a quick, smooth understanding of FALO characters.

Character Photo

Please submit a photograph of your character. Original photos or electronic scans (preferably jpg format with a resolution no greater than 150). Crisp images are an absolute must as blurriness only becomes worse with printing. You will also want to select a photograph that accurately represents your character and one in which the background compliments, or at least does not overwhelm, your mighty presence.

Character Background

Herein is recorded the story of your life, or at least a brief summing-up. This section should be between 250 and 650 words with 400 to 500 being ideal. Electronic submissions are preferred, but if that option is not available to you, hard copy will be accepted.

Here you want to put down what you want other people to know about your character—what you would hope someone would tell them about you before introducing them to you and written from that perspective. What is considered important will vary from person to person, and the best way to generate ideas is to look at existing FALO files. Some specific things to consider are:

  • How you came to be a part of this clan and a little about who you were before
  • Important relationships
  • A bit more about your homeland
  • Driving goals or life quests
  • Significant choices that made you who you are
  • Unique features or practices of your character

You may not wish to include any information that is secret as it is often hard for people who read FALO Files to remember what is public knowledge and what is not.
